Presenter: Sheila Barron, PhD (Educational Measurement and Statistics)

There is growing recognition of the importance of statistical reasoning skills in the modern workplace and in everyday life. Happening along the same timeline is a reform effort in statistic education at all levels which involves a de-emphasis of formulas and computations, and targets conceptual understanding and practical problem-solving skills. This workshop will present several examples of hands-on investigative activities ideal for students in grades 7-12.
