Presenter: Shawn Datchuk, PhD (Assistant Professor – Special Education Program)
For elementary and middle school students with disabilities, writing stories and essays can be a daunting task. The good news is that teachers can use Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) to help their students. It is an evidence-based practice that uses strategy instruction and aspects of self-regulation to teach students to write well-organized stories and essays in as little as one to two weeks. The workshop will cover the basics of SRSD and describe each stage of the strategy.
