Presenters: Dr. Ashley Rila, Postdoctoral Research Scholar, Special Education

Did you know that approximately 10% of all K-12 students receive special education services? The vast majority of these students spend the majority of their school day within general education classrooms. This means all teachers, no matter grade level or content area, are special education teachers. Join this session to learn how the University of Iowa Special Education program can help you prepare for your future classroom. We'll discuss options available to all BA and MA college students, including added endorsements, course offerings, degrees, and certificates.  In addition, we'll discuss scholarship opportunities and job prospects for endorsements or degrees in special education.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Baker Teacher Leader Center, 319-335-5623, in advance.
