The College of Education's Graduate Student Executive Committee (GSEC) and Writing Resource Center are pleased to offer a Graduate Student Writing Retreat on November 15th. The retreat will take place from 9am to 3pm in the Teacher Leader Center. The tentative schedule is as follows:

9:00 AM – Good Writing Habits Panel
10:00 AM – Dedicated Writing Time
11:30 AM - Lunch
12:30 PM – Support Groups
1:30 PM – Dedicated Writing Time

The Good Writing Habits Panel is a Q&A session where attendees will be able to ask COE faculty questions about the thesis/dissertation writing process. The Support Groups session will consist of several small groups where attendees, led by a faculty member, will work through a common problem related to thesis/dissertation writing. As of now, the planned support groups are "Developing a Proposal", "Time Management and Writing Strategies", and "Selecting and Working with Your Committee". If other groups are needed as indicated by attendees, the number of support groups will be expanded. Attendees will also be able to schedule a 1:1 consultation with tutors from the Writing Resource Center.
