Help elementary students explore the connection between communities and our natural environment, develop empathy and compassion for the world around them, all the while building foundational skills in science, geography, economics and civic engagement. Explore needs and wants, environmental stewardship, sustainability, and more. Population Education creates lesson plans, virtual tools, and other classroom resources to help students understand the ways in which our growing global family changes the world around us. See all new lessons this semester, and receive dozens of free lesson plans that are aligned to state and national standards and resources for your in-person and virtual classrooms. Great for social studies, math, science, and true interdisciplinary learning.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Baker Teacher Leader Center, 319-335-5623, in advance.
