Cross-curricular instruction provides students the opportunity to make connections across subject areas providing them purpose for the concepts they are learning. Children’s literature and cultural influences can be utilized as venues to enhance cross-curricular instruction while also increasing diverse representation in the classroom. Participants of this session will explore cross-curricular teaching opportunities through the Legend of the Three Sisters. They will gain a deeper understanding of how the environment and agriculture has influenced culture, and how culture as influenced agriculture. This session will be an interactive session that will include discussion, activities that can be completed at home, and demonstrations.

The workshop is geared towards elementary/middle school education
