Thailand, Asia: Immersion in Thai Culture, Education, and Communities
December 28 – January 15, 2020; $3,700.00 + International Programs Fee
Explore the history and culture of Thailand through several school and community-based educational programs. Study -Tour will include participation in a global youth leadership summit for Thai youth. Visit Bang Nam phueng floating market, Phimai Historical Park, among other cultural sites. Additionally participants will engage in agricultural visits and Thai cooking classes. This study-tour will visit both urban and rural areas of Thailand.  

Ecuador, South America: Inclusive and Indigenous Education
January 3 – January 17, 2020; $2250.00 + International Programs Fee
Explore inclusive education practices at our partner school Colegio Ecuatoriano Español América Latina as well as indigenous schools in the Amazon and Andean Highlands. This study-tour will include an in school experience and homestay with teachers at Colegio América Latina as well as schools and community-based education and cultural experiences in the Amazon rain forest and in Ecuador’s highlands. 

Costa Rica, Central America: International Schooling and Climate Studies
March 13 – March 22, 2020; $2000.00 + International Programs Fee
Ever thought about teaching abroad for your first teaching gig? This study-tour in Costa Rica will include a 4-day in-school practicum experience at Country Day School – and International School in San José. Students will also visit rain forest and cloud forest nature reserves, hot springs, and a variety of outdoors activities during a weekend excursion to Mt. Arenal, an active volcano in northern Costa Rica.

eSwatini, Africa: Global Education, Health, and Poverty Studies
Spring Break 2020, March 13 – 22, 2020; $1900.00 + Airfare (Currently under $1000.00) + International Programs Fee
eSwatini, the country formerly known as Swaziland in Southern Africa is the last remaining absolute monarchy in the world and has a high percentage of orphans from the HIV AIDS crisis. Our program here will include supporting programs for orphaned youth and developing and implementing an afterschool program for primary and early secondary students at our partner schools, Elangeni primary and senior high school. This study-tour will include study visits to eSwatini’s only refugee camp, a wildlife safari, and other cultural and educational events. 

Japan: Japanese Schooling and International Peace Studies
May 19 – June 2, 2020; $3500.00* (awaiting final quote from Japanese Ground Operator) + IP Program Fee
Joestu University College of Education and our very own College of Education have a longstanding partnership. Students participating in this trip will observe classroom practice and participate in a variety of cultural events. Participants will visit sites of cultural, historical, and educational significance in Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima. This tour will include a brief homestay with a Japanese family.
