Please join us for a series of workshops on what can be done to strengthen general education—as students move into STEM, business, health, and other pre-professional fields—to ensure that college students, whatever their major or background, encounter inspiring works of literature and philosophy and grasp the power of the humanities and its relevance to their professional aspirations.
In honor of National Poetry Month, this closing "How I Teach This Text" workshop will feature Rachel Hadas, Board of Governors Professor of English at Rutgers University-Newark, and Major Jackson, Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Chair in the Humanities at Vanderbilt University, on teaching poetry to a new generation of students.
