Online social interactions: Can meaningful friendships be established in online environments?

In this online presentation, we will discuss how youth interact with peers in an online context, including establishing friendships in an electronic environment. Topics covered will include defining friendship, understanding online social interactions, examining online social network platforms, and exploring the intersection of social interactions in electronic and physical spaces. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of digital citizenship and teaching youth how to engage in socially appropriate interactions in an online environment.
