Faculty members say:
"I have been able to meet very capable students in education who would have never crossed my path otherwise. I have been able to discuss research with them in follow-up conversations and give them the opportunity to work with children in need of services."
-- Kit Gerken, Psychological and Quantitative Foundations
"I’ve very much enjoyed serving as the faculty mentor for students involved in the Honors Opportunity Program, as the students in the program are highly capable and focused and eager to make the most of their educational experience in the College and at the UI. Not only is it exciting to support such learners in their research endeavors, it’s interesting to learn about the research they are pursuing right along with them; a real win-win."
-- Nancy Langguth, Department of Teaching and Learning
"I've especially enjoyed opportunities to help future teachers initiate the kind of classroom-based research that I hope they'll continue to do in their own classrooms."
Linda Fielding, Department of Teaching and Learning
