Albert Hood Promising Scholar Award

Awarded to a doctoral student in the Department of Rehabilitation and Counselor Education and to a doctoral student in Higher Education and Student Affairs with an approved prospectus. Established by Jean M. Hood on the occasion of the retirement of her husband, Dr. Hood.

More about Albert Hood

Professor Hood joined the UI College of Education faculty in 1965.  He is internationally known in the area of college student development and is a prolific publisher and presenter with more than 100 publications, Professor Hood has directed more than 60 Ph.D. dissertations and twice served as chair of the Division of Counselor Education.
