Global Education is a transdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning that includes discussions of citizenship, power, cross-cultural learning, curriculum studies, economics, humanities, social justice, and more. Course work in Global Education, while listed as part of the social studies program, is open to all students in all areas of study in the College of Education and at the University of Iowa.

The cognate in Global Education requires completion of 9 s.h. of course work. No more than 3 s.h. can come from outside of the courses listed below and must be approved by the Program Coordinator.
