Science Education is an interdisciplinary major that prepares candidates to be engaged and effective teachers.


This B.S. in Science Education — with an emphasis in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics — is available to all undergraduates enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (which administers the degree), but when completed in conjunction with the Science Education Teacher Education Program, is designed to satisfy content course requirements for teaching two or more science subjects. The science education major is not intended to prepare students for advanced study in one area of science.
