The combined B.A./M.A.T. (4+1) Science Education program provides a seamless process whereby students can progress from undergraduate to graduate status.

The College of Education, in partnership with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, offers students the opportunity to earn their B.A. in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Environmental Science plus an M.A.T. in Education in as little as five years (it usually takes six years to achieve both). Through careful planning, many of the courses required by the M.A.T. program can be taken during the undergraduate years, creating an opportunity to focus the fifth year of study on the comprehensive and student teaching requirements.
