The M.A.T. in English Education prepares candidates to be secondary education teachers of English/language arts.

Overview

The 45 semester hour M.A.T. program in English Education is grounded in contemporary theory and research in the discipline of literary studies. Students who enroll in the M.A.T. will hold an undergraduate degree in English and will have taken very few, if any, undergraduate courses in education. In addition to coursework in English and education, students in the M.A.T. participate in field experiences and complete comprehensive projects near the end of the program.
