Admissions

All applicants must satisfy the Graduate College requirements and are selected through a faculty review process. Factors considered include recommendations, grade-point average, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test scores, one to two page statement of goals, and other evidence of academic ability and professional promise. Complete application materials are reviewed as received for rolling admission. If you have missed a deadline, you may sign up for up to 6 semester hours of classes as a non-degree seeking student.

Application Deadlines for PhD applicants seeking full-time status assistantship funding

For full-time students to be considered for funding, applications must be in by January 2 for Fall Semester.

Letters go out to new students by March 1

For PhD students applying for an assistantship, please note that most TA and GA positions are contracted for an academic year, with most funding decisions made in the spring semester. If you wish to be considered for an assistantship, your materials must be received by January 2 for Fall Semester.
