This curriculum satisfies the requirements from the Hong Kong Psychological Society (HKPS). To be recognized by the HKPS, we must provide post-graduate coursework in the “fundamental areas” areas of psychology. This program does not confer licensure in the United States.

The curriculum for the M.A. in Counseling Psychology is 33 credits (11 courses, not including any necessary prerequisites).  This is a non-thesis MA.

Course Delivery

Each course is offered for one-month via ICON except for the 4 full days of teaching in Hong Kong. During that month of instruction, the faculty member teaching will travel to Hong Kong to provide 4 days of teaching to students in that course. Courses are taught all year and so the curriculum does not follow the typical semester cycle. Courses are offered as one-month of instruction and then one-month of no instruction.

Program Completion

Successful completion of this program will be to maintain a 2.75 gpa cumulative throughout the coursework. There is no final project or capstone experience.
