  • Personal Interests: I teach Zumba at the university so I have an interest in promoting fitness and health to others. On the opposite end of that, I enjoy indulging in breakfast food at any hour of the day. So a day with brunch and Zumba is my happy place.

  • Personal Interests: I like to spend as much of my time outdoors as I can: I like riding my bike around Iowa City, and hiking. I also have been practicing yoga for 10+ years and I am trying to find time to practice yoga or lift weights when I have free time. I also enjoy cooking and watching movies in my free time. 
  • Message to prospective students: Graduate school is an ultra-marathon, not a sprint. Go at your own pace, do what interests you. Be kind to yourself and try to avoid comparing yourself to others. We all have different interests and backgrounds and this brings strength and diversity to our program.

  • Message to prospective students: Interviews connected the pieces. They were by far the most meaningful and insightful part of the process for me. While, I had spent so much time (re)reading about different programs, and hearing about “fit.” Being here in person allowed me to experience what my life would actually look like. I know this process is exhausting, but when that self-doubt sneaks in please remember that you are more than good enough. You have so much to offer. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Take your time, find your space, and be genuine. Wherever you are meant to be you will.
